Press Release
Attorney General To Seek Deeper Reduction In CL&P Rate Increase
June 14, 2010
“I am pleased that the DPUC heeded my call, slicing by more than half Connecticut Light & Power’s (CL&P) rate increase request to 2.3 percent. I will fight to reduce the increase to zero -- sparing stretched and struggling consumers and businesses. Connecticut already has the highest power prices in the continental United States and simply cannot pay more.
“I will fight to stop CL&P from increasing rates that should be falling. Ultimately, we must strive to reduce rates, lessening the heavy burden crushing Connecticut consumers and businesses.”
