(HARTFORD) – Attorney General George Jepsen and state Banking Commissioner Howard F. Pitkin are announcing that Wells Fargo and Wachovia customers who are having trouble paying their mortgage loans may attend a home preservation workshop the bank is hosting on Dec. 20, 2011 in Hartford.

The free event will be held at the Connecticut Convention Center, 100 Columbus Boulevard, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.Free parking is available on site.

Wells Fargo and Wachovia mortgage customers will have the opportunity to meet with a bank representative to discuss their financial concerns and options.

Housing counselors will be available and Wells Fargo home preservation specialists will work one-on-one with customers facing mortgage payment challenges to identify potential options to keep their homes and avoid foreclosure. In many cases, borrowers may receive a decision on a loan modification or other options on site or shortly following the workshop.
