Connecticut Wine v. Kentucky Country Ham
Over NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship
Attorney General George Jepsen today announced that he has agreed to a friendly wager with Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway over the outcome of tonight’s NCAA Men’s National Championship game between the University of Connecticut Huskies and the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
General Jepsen, thanks to the tremendous success of UConn's basketball program, has been on a winning streak when it comes to such wagers with Conway. Last year, Jepsen found himself the lucky winner of a Kentucky ham after the women defeated Louisville.
Jepsen put the same stake on the table this year by again offering Connecticut wine, hoping to make the outcome in Arlington a little easier for his Kentucky counterpart to swallow. Conway again countered this year with a Kentucky ham.
"Year after year the Connecticut Huskies have been the right team to wager on and I have grown accustomed to annually receiving a Kentucky ham from General Conway," said Attorney General Jepsen."This year should be no different and as the Huskies prepare to smoke the Wildcats, I will prepare for victory by getting my carving board and appetite ready."
"The Wildcats are on a roll, and I think the NCAA championship trophy will be headed back to Kentucky for the third year in a row,” Attorney General Conway said. “It’s been an exciting year for our team and our Commonwealth, and I think that Connecticut wine will go down just as smooth as a last-second three pointer from Aaron Harrison.”
