Expertise:
Dr. Maynard has experience in many areas of vegetable production especially those using sustainable or organic methods. Her specific areas of expertise include composting, utilization of compost in nursery stock and vegetable production, nitrate leaching from compost-amended soil, and the long-term effects of repeated applications of compost on soil characteristics and water quality. She is now evaluating new crops for Connecticut.
