Diseases caused by Fungi:

White pine blister rust, Cronartium ribicola.
Although this rust can occur on gooseberry, European varieties are considered to be resistant.

Powdery mildew, Sphaerotheca.
This mildew occurs on the fruit and foliage of most Ribes species, although it is often more pronounced on gooseberry.
