The Joint Council Working for you
|
What can you do? The Joint Council needs every member of the fire service to become active and to know the identity of their local Representative and Senator. This local contact is an important part of the fire service's visibility at the Capitol. You should make yourself known to your Representative and Senator and make them aware of your needs and concerns. The Council serves as a resource to fire service members that have questions about the legislative process. Individuals, individual fire companies, or departments that are interested in submitting legislation are encouraged to submit their proposals through their organization of membership. Proposals that are introduced are discussed by the Joint Council for strategy. The Joint Council then makes every effort to ensure passage. |
