Does my business need to self-certify before I can reopen? How do I self-certify?

Connecticut is allowing businesses to reopen in a phased process. But before you can open your doors, you must self-certify that you are following strict safety guidelines to keep your employees and customers safe.

Businesses in the Phase 1 and Phase 2 sectors can start the self-certification process right now at the Connecticut Business Reopening and Recovery Center on CT.Gov.

Please note that businesses that were deemed essential under Executive Order 7H do not need to self-certify.

SPECIAL NOTE for businesses regarding Executive Order 7MM:

• This order allows municipalities to expedite changes to their zoning rules or other ordinances to expand outdoor dining
• It also creates an expedited approval process for restaurants and other establishments that serve food to get fast-tracked permission to create or expand outdoor dining areas
• It allows other businesses such as retail stores to get fast-tracked permission to sell goods on the sidewalk or in other outdoor areas, including shared spaces or spaces provided by municipalities
• It allows restaurants and other businesses who already have liquor permits to serve alcohol only with food without applying for a separate patio or extension of use permit
• It allows private clubs to sell alcohol only to their members for delivery or pickup
