Gov. Malloy Announces New Company Relocating to Connecticut, Adding Over 100 Jobs in Stamford
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, an importer and marketer of high-quality wine and spirit brands from around the world, plans to relocate its headquarters from White Plains, New York to Stamford, Connecticut. The relocation will deliver more than 100 new or relocated jobs moving into the state.

Gov. Malloy Announces Manufacturing Company Relocating to Connecticut, Adding Hundreds of Jobs in Windsor Locks
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC, the largest mattress manufacturing company in the country, plans to relocate their Massachusetts operations to Windsor Locks, resulting in approximately 200 new or relocated jobs into Connecticut.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the results of new, end-of-season tourism data, indicating that Connecticut saw a strong 2015 summer, with indicators showing significant rises in visitation to tourism destinations, as well as a significant increase in spending levels per visitor.

Gov. Malloy Announces Financial Services Company MC Credit Partners Relocating to Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that MC Credit Partners, LP, an institutional manager of middle market direct lending funds, is relocating from New York City to Stamford, moving 16 employees to Connecticut with plans to create five new positions over the next two years.

Gov. Malloy Announces Available Support to Towns and Cities for Brownfield Redevelopment
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) is accepting applications for $7.5 million in grants that will be awarded to help clean up former industrial sites in communities throughout the state, revitalizing these properties to put them back into productive use. Made available through the Connecticut Brownfield Remediation program, a total of $6.5 million will be earmarked for remediation projects and $1 million will be used for assessment projects.

Gov. Malloy: State Secures Entry into New Federal Program for Manufacturers to Advance New Flexible Hybrid Electronics
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), the University of Connecticut (UConn), and the United Technologies Research Center (UTRC) will take part in a new Flexible Hybrid Electronics Manufacturing Innovation Institute (FHE MII), a virtual institute consisting of more than 160 companies, universities, and non-profits. As part of the institute, manufacturers in the state can gain support to build up their capabilities in new flexible, hybrid electronic technologies.

Gov. Malloy Unveils New Apprenticeship Program to Grow Jobs, Strengthen Workforce Skills and Boost State’s Manufacturing Industry
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the state is launching a new workforce development initiative through the Manufacturing Innovation Fund that supports a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction for apprentices in the manufacturing industry. The Manufacturing Innovation Fund Apprenticeship Program will provide wage subsidies and tuition reimbursements to eligible companies in order to increase the number of apprentices in Connecticut and ensure a talented, skilled workforce for the future.

Gov. Malloy: Synchrony Financial to Add Up to 400 New Jobs in Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and executives from Synchrony Financial - a premier consumer financial services company headquartered in Stamford - today announced that the company is expanding its Connecticut operations with the creation of 200 to 400 new, full-time jobs in the state while retaining 310 jobs.

Gov. Malloy Announces $7 Million in Grants for Brownfield Redevelopment in 12 Communities Throughout the State
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) will award $7 million to 12 brownfield redevelopment and assessment projects across the state, including $5.4 million to four remediation and redevelopment projects and $1.5 million to eight projects for assessment and investigation. Together, the projects will help clean up and assess a total of 462 acres of commercial, industrial and municipal properties.

Gov. Malloy: Tourism Industry Contributes $14 Billion to Connecticut's Economy, Adding 5,000 Jobs in Recent Years
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the results of an economic impact study of the tourism industry in Connecticut, showing that the sector of the state's economy generated $14 billion in total sales in 2013 - a three-percent increase from the prior year. The study also shows that tourism supports more than 118,000 jobs statewide - including 80,000 direct jobs - representing 5.3 percent of all employment in the state. Approximately 5,000 new jobs have been created in the industry since the end of the recession.
