Pesticide Product Registration Requirements

Pesticides exempt from federal registration under section 25(b) of FIFRA must be registered in Connecticut,
-
Alternate Brand Names (ABN) must be registered separately, and
-
Section 22a-50(l) of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that the Commissioner classify neonicotinoids (as defined by section 22-61k of the Connecticut General Statutes) that are labeled for treating plants, as restricted use.
Application Information
A complete registration application consists of:
- one copy of the Application for Registration of Pesticides,
- one copy of the safety data sheet (SDS) and one copy of the product label for each product to be registered, and
- a check made payable to "Department of Energy and Environmental Protection" for the required registration fee.
