The Saugatuck Universal Access Trail
Centennial Watershed State Forest, Redding
This wheelchair accessible trail was built in 2004 by the Aquarion Water Company with funding from the Wheels in the Woods Foundation. The trail is about 500 feet in length and ends at a platform overlooking the Saugatuck Reservoir. It is open from sunrise to sunset.
Directions:
From Danbury, take Route 53 south to the intersection with Route 107 in Redding. At the intersection, continue straight on Route 53 for 0.7 miles to a "T" intersection with Newtown Turnpike. Turn left onto Newtown Turnpike, continue for 0.1 mile and turn right into the State Forest parking area. The entrance to the trail is at the left side of the parking area.
