Recycling Market Development Council Subcommittee

Meetings, Meeting Notes, and Related Materials
Facilitator: Sherill Baldwin, DEEP, 860-424-3440

This Council was formed to support the growing industry of reuse and recycling businesses.  Governor Malloy, Commissioner Esty (DEEP), and Commissioner Smith (DECD) announced the creation of the Council on February 28, 2013 at a Recycling Means Jobs Legislative Day.  Business-to-business partnerships, public-private partnerships, multi-state regional partnerships, even international partnerships are crucial to the recycling industry as a whole.

DEEP, in partnership with DECD, NSWMA, CBIA, individual businesses, organizations and others sought to bring as many voices to the table as possible to help make Connecticut more competitive in the reuse and recycling sectors. Owners, employees or board members of reuse and recycling businesses and organizations, including haulers or collectors, processors, recyclers, brokers, reuse centers and manufacturers were all encouraged to attend.

Council members are notified by e-mail when minutes or new materials are posted.  For more information on the Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee, contact Chris Nelson  or call him at (860) 424-3454.
