STREETSAFE! Consumer Safety Training
STREETSAFE! is a personal safety training program for people in recovery from behavioral healthcare disorders. The training teaches skills designed to reduce the risk of victimization and what actions a consumer should take in the event that they become a victim of crime. The focus of the content is on adopting safer behaviors at home and in the community.
The DSS/SETU does not directly conduct training classes for consumers. A Train the Trainer Model is used to conduct the training. To learn about the STREETSAFE! Train the Trainer Program, contact Arlene Garcia, LCSW, EDd at 860-262-5341 or arlene.garcia@ct.gov.
