ReEmployCT: Connecticut’s New Tax and Benefits System

Benefit Filers/Claimant Information

WHAT UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT FILERS/CLAIMANTS NEED TO KNOW:

The Connecticut Department of Labor (CTDOL) is pleased to announce that the new tax and benefits system, ReEmployCT, will launch July 5, 2022. ReEmployCT is a much-needed technology update that replaces the agency’s 40-year-old unemployment filing system.

ReEmployCT has several improvements to make filing your claim easier, including:

  • A single sign on; no need for multiple passwords to access one account;
  • The ability to do more right from your account. Common adjustments—like a change of address or reporting a return-to-work date—happen in ReEmployCT;
  • Everything is online; many documents that previously had to be submitted by mail or fax will be available online.
                                                                                                               * KEY POINTS FOR FILERS:

All filers must establish a new account in the new system. Your username and password will not work in ReEmployCT, you have to create a new one.

1.  When you get into ReEmployCT, you will be prompted to the sign in screen-you can create a username and password or sign in. Create a new username and password.

2. Do not try to sign in using your old credentials-ReEmployCT is a new system and will not recognize the old sign in username and password.

3. Create a new username and password.

4. Then you'll be directed to the sign in screen again and you may use the new credentials, sign in, and proceed to your account.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE TRANSITION WEEK TO REEMPLOYCT

For new filers, the transition to ReEmployCT will begin on June 20, 2022. That means that all new applications for unemployment benefits will be filed when ReEmployCT launches on July 5, 2022 at noon. At that point, new filers may file retroactively for the week ending June 25 AND the week ending July 2.

For existing filers who are doing their weekly certification, June 26, 2022 through July 4, 2022 is the transition time.

  • Claimants should file their certification for the week ending June 25 on June 26 by 11 pm.
  • They will be able to file the week ending July 2 on when ReEmployCT launches at noon on July 5.
  • If claimants miss filing on June 26, they may file for both weeks on July 5.

AFTER THE LAUNCH

On or after July 5, 2022, benefit filers/claimants will go back to www.FileCTUI.com, the CTDOL unemployment filing page. New benefit filers/claimants will continue to use the blue button ‘New Claims’; existing benefit filers/claimants will continue to use the green button ‘Current Claims’. Then:

  • Benefit filers/claimants will be directed to ReEmployCT and prompted to set up a new username and password;
  • Every unemployment benefit filer/claimant must create a new account in the ReEmployCT system—you will create a new username and a new password;
  • Once you have new credentials, you will log in using those credentials and see the questions in the new ReEmployCT format;
  • You will submit your claim for the week of July 2 on or after July 5. You may also file retroactively if you missed filing on June 26 for that week

WHAT’S DIFFERENT FOR BENEFIT FILERS/CLAIMANTS IN REEMPLOYCT?

  • The ReEmployCT system modernizes the unemployment benefits filing process. Filers will see updated screens, new features, and an improved user experience.
  • Filers will need new credentials—you’ll go to the website, choose a new username and password and set up your ReEmployCT account. You must establish new credentials as a new user; you won’t be able to log in using your old information.
