Nighttime Bridge Repairs along I-95 in Stamford and Darien; Lane Closures Required

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime bridge repairs will be performed on three bridges on I-95 Northbound in Stamford and Darien beginning the evening of Sunday, July 21, 2013. Lane closures will be required during this work.

      The bridge work consists of bridge joint replacement on the bridges listed below.  This work is scheduled to occur Sunday, July 21, through Friday, August 23, 2013.

·         Stamford – Bridge # 00034 over Lockwood Avenue

·         Stamford – Bridge # 00038 over Hamilton Avenue

·         Darien – Bridge # 00040 over Brookside Drive

      This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2013 bridge maintenance program and is being performed by Costello Industries.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Motorists can expect lane closures on I-95 Northbound between Exit 8 (Atlantic Street) and Exit 10 (Noroton Avenue) in Stamford and Darien.

      Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday through Thursday evenings).

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
