Pavement Preservation project on I-395 in Montville and Norwich
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the pavement preservation project on I-395 between Exit 79A (Route 2A) in Montville and Exit 83 (Route 97) in Norwich will start on Tuesday, May 28, 2013.
The purpose of the project is to improve the existing riding surface and extend the service life of the pavement. The general scope will consist of a 3” mill and overlay from curb to curb in both directions and includes all ramps. The project also includes the installation of membrane waterproofing and asphaltic plug joints at structures within the project limits, installation of rumble strips in the roadway shoulders, and epoxy resin pavement markings.
DOT Project No. 0085-0142 was awarded to American Industries Incorporated at a cost of $10,856,525.35 on May 20, 2013, and is scheduled to be completed in October 2013.
