EMS Instructor Reinstatement of a Lapsed Certification
*Reinstatement is required if a certification has been expired greater than 90 days
An EMS Instructor reinstatement applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Accrue 50 contact hours, to include:
- 35 hours of teaching in OEMS approved courses, over at least 5 categories
- 5 hours of attending OEMS approved continuing education for the EMSI
- 10 hours of EITHER teaching or attending the above
Documentation Requirements:
- Completed EMS Instructor Renewal application
- Individuals who have successfully completed an approved emergency medical services instructor course or its equivalent as approved by the Department, more than two years prior to the date of application for emergency medical services instructor certification, shall provide evidence of at least fifty (50) hours of teaching experience every two years since completion of the course, on forms provided by the Department.
