Program Purpose & Goals:
The Connecticut SLRP (CSLRP) is a federal-state partnership that assists states in addressing the health professional shortages that cause disparities in access to health care. Program participants work for Community Health Centers and other eligible primary care sites in the state.
Community Health Centers provide comprehensive primary care services in areas designated by the federal government as Medically Underserved Areas (MUA) and as Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSA).
Repayment of educational loans in exchange for a period of employment is a significant incentive for eligible clinicians to work in Community Health Centers.
