License Based on an Out-of-State License

Before applying for licensure, please familiarize yourself with the general licensing policies.

The Department may grant a license to any applicant who is licensed as a nail technician in another U.S. state, the District of Columbia or a commonwealth or territory subject to the laws of the United States.

Application Instructions

Applications are only accepted online.  Please select this link to apply online.  After you have registered for an account, please select 'Initial Application' at the bottom left of the screen and then expand the 'Appearance Enhancement' grouping.  The application fee is $100.

As part of the online application, the applicant will upload a copy of a current license in good standing to practice as a nail technician and a form documenting that the applicant has two years of experience as a licensed nail technician in the other state.  If the state where the experience occurred did not have a licensing program at the time the experience occurred, please upload a statement indicating same.
