A regular meeting of the Freedom of Information Commission was held on January 11, 2017, in the Freedom of Information Hearing Room, 18-20 Trinity Street, Hartford, Connecticut. The meeting convened at 2:12 p.m. with the following Commissioners present:

The Commissioners voted, 4-0, to approve Commission’s regular meeting minutes of December 7, 2016. Commissioners Streeter and Barry abstained.
Those in attendance were informed that the Commission does not ordinarily record the remarks made at its meetings, but will do so on request.

The Commissioners voted, 5-0, to deny a request for a Declaratory Ruling from J. R. McMullen from the city of Stamford. Commissioner Shaw did not participate in this matter. The proceedings were recorded digitally.
Victor R. Perpetua and Kathleen K. Ross reported on pending appeals.
Colleen M. Murphy reported that the Commission would not be submitting a formal legislative package for the 2017 session, but would continue to monitor proposed legislation that might impact government access issues.
