(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today said that State of Connecticut offices will remain open for regular business hours on Monday, December 2, 2019 as an ongoing winter storm continues to impact the state. Early this morning, the governor held a unified command call with the leadership of several state agencies, the Connecticut National Guard, and utility companies to assess the situation. While several areas of the state are seeing icy conditions, preparedness efforts put in place prior to the storm are showing positive results and there are very minimal power outages.
“It is slick in some spots but still manageable, so we are advising everyone that if you need to travel you should give yourself extra time and take it slow,” Governor Lamont said. “Leadership from state offices will remain in enhanced monitoring status throughout the day today as some additional snow, sleet, and freezing rain are expected to impact the state during the Monday afternoon and evening hours. I will stay in close contact with them throughout the day and will provide additional updates as necessary.”
