MALLOY TAPS SPECIAL COUNSEL TO ATTORNEY GENERAL TO JOIN HIS LEGAL TEAM

(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor-Elect Dan Malloy announced today that he has selected Assistant Attorney General Anthony Jannotta to join his legal team within the Governor's Office. Jannotta will work under the direction of General Counsel, Andrew McDonald.

"Anthony Jannotta is well respected in Connecticut's legal community, and someone who has significant experience advocating on behalf of the state's citizens," said Governor-Elect Malloy. "Anthony has been a public servant for over 15 years, and I'm glad he's agreed to continue that service in my office."

"It allows me to continue to serve the people of the state of Connecticut and play a significant role in helping Governor-Elect Malloy bring about change for Connecticut's families by creating jobs and being a leader for responsible government."

Anthony Jannotta has served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Attorney General for over fifteen years. For the last seven years, Jannotta worked on Attorney General Richard Blumenthal's executive staff as Special Counsel. Jannotta is an experienced litigator who has been the lead counsel on a multi-state working group of Attorneys General, responsible for investigations and landmark agreements with News Corporation-owned MySpace.com, Facebook, and Craigslist, setting forth principles of Internet safety, removing sexual predators from the sites, and protecting women and children from sexual exploitation. He has served as a liaison to the Connecticut General Assembly, state constitutional officers, and the congressional delegation on legislative and policy initiatives. He was also a member of a special unit of Assistant Attorneys General admitted to prosecute criminal cases. Jannotta is a graduate of Fairfield College Preparatory School, Boston College, and Quinnipiac University School of Law.
