TODAY: GOV. MALLOY TO BE BRIEFED BY STATE AND UTILITY OFFICIALS ON PREPAREDNESS FOR HURRICANE SANDY; WILL BRIEF MEDIA AFTER MEETING

(HARTFORD, CT) - Today at noon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will be briefed by Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection Deputy Commissioner William P. Shea and heads of the state's major utility companies on preparations that are being made to deal with the potential impact of Hurricane Sandy. Utility companies expected to attend include: CL&P, United Illuminating, AT&T, Cablevision, Comcast, Verizon, Charter, MetroCast, Cox and Sprint.

Immediately following the meeting, Governor Malloy will hold a media availability to discuss the contents of the briefing.
