MONDAY: GOV. MALLOY MAKES ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT REDEVELOPMENT OF THE MIDDLETOWN RIVERFRONT; COMMEMORATES ENACTMENT OF LAW AIMING TO PREVENT CONCUSSIONS IN YOUTH ATHLETICS

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Middletown Mayor Daniel T. Drew will hold a news conference to make a major announcement concerning the planned redevelopment of the neighborhood in Middletown surrounding the Connecticut River.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will host an event in Westport to commemorate the enactment of a new law that aims to reduce the number of concussions in children participating in youth athletics. The Governor will be joined by state lawmakers and advocates of the new law. The legislation is Public Act 14-66 , An Act Concerning Youth Athletics and Concussions .
