GOV. MALLOY STATEMENT ON TODAY'S VOTES TO SELECT LEGISLATIVE LEADERS FOR THE UPCOMING TERM

(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the following statement regarding today's votes by each of the four legislative caucuses to select leaders for the upcoming term in office:

"I want to congratulate the leadership of all four caucuses on their selections, and in particular those who are being designated to serve for their first time in these principal roles, including Senate President-Elect Martin Looney, Senate Majority Leader-Elect Bob Duff, Senate Minority Leader-Elect Len Fasano, and House Minority Leader-Elect Themis Klarides. I also look forward to working closely again with Speaker Brendan Sharkey and House Majority Leader Joe Aresimowicz.

"As each of us prepare to begin new respective terms in office at the start of the upcoming year, I'm feeling very optimistic about what we can accomplish for the people who've elected us. Working as partners, we can continue strengthening our state, fostering growth and generating a prosperous Connecticut."
