WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY ATTENDS EVENTS IN HARTFORD, BRIDGEPORT AND PLANTSVILLE

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will chair a meeting of the State Bond Commission, which will be followed by a media availability. During the media availability, he will discuss the state's support for the construction of the new Sandy Hook Elementary School building.

At noon, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will attend the House of Bread's 29th annual Hunger Banquet. Proceeds from the luncheon benefit the organization's soup kitchen.

Later, Governor Malloy will speak at a student assembly at Interdistrict Discovery Magnet School in Bridgeport, sponsored by the Weather Channel and Optimum Community. The interactive assembly, hosted by Weather Channel meteorologist Mark Elliott, presents middle school-aged students with information about the science of meteorology and change in weather patterns.

Following that, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Wyman will participate in the 2014 Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame Ceremony in Hartford, where ten veterans will be honored for their military service and leadership in the community.

In the evening, the Governor will speak at the 2014 Courage of Connecticut Law Enforcement Dinner in Plantsville. The ceremony, hosted by the Connecticut Council of Police, honors the work of those in the law enforcement community. The Governor will present the Newtown Police Department with an award for their handling of the 2012 tragedy in Sandy Hook.
