FRIDAY: GOV. MALLOY, CONGRESSIONAL MEMBERS VISIT TORRINGTON CHILD CARE PROGRAM TO HIGHLIGHT PRE-K EXPANSION

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday at noon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy, Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty, and Connecticut Office of Early Childhood Commissioner Dr. Myra Jones-Taylor will visit Torrington Child Care Center, Inc., which will soon be adding 80 new and improved high-quality preschool spaces as part of a recently awarded $12.5 million federal grant the state received to expand preschool in the state. During the event, they will visit with teachers, faculty and students, and hold a news conference to discuss the importance of expanding early childhood education and the benefits of the federal grant.
