GOV. MALLOY & LT. GOV. WYMAN: TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE FOR 2015 CONNECTICUT INAUGURAL BALL
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman today announced that tickets are now available for the 2015 Connecticut Inaugural Ball, which will be hosted by the First Company Governor's Foot Guard and held on the evening of Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.
As is tradition in Connecticut, the Foot Guard has hosted these black tie celebrations to commemorate gubernatorial inaugurations since colonial times. The inaugural ball is completely paid for from revenue raised through the sale of tickets to the event.
The ball begins at 7:30 p.m. and doors open at 6:00 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to ensure smooth admittance through security protocols. Tickets can be purchased individually as general admission or as tables for groups of ten.
Tickets can be purchased online at
www.ctinauguralball.com
or via telephone by calling 860-246-7772.
Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Wyman thanked Foot Guard Major Christopher Cain, Board of Trustee President Captain Thomas Satalino, and Inaugural Ball Chairman Lee Fongemie, as well as everyone else involved in the Foot Guard for their work organizing the ball.
Details on the inauguration ceremony, which will be held earlier that same day, will be announced soon.
The First Company Governor's Foot Guard was formed in 1771 and is the oldest American military organization in continuous operation. It is a largely ceremonial unit established under the Connecticut General Statutes and serves the Governor and the state in a variety of capacities, ranging from military to artistic and educational.
