WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY SPEAKS AT TRANSPORTATION FORUM; ATTENDS CONTINUUM OF CARE GROUNDBREAKING; SPEAKS AT BREAST CANCER EVENT

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will make welcoming remarks at a forum hosted by a coalition of organizations from throughout the state titled, "Getting to Work: Transportation and Jobs Access for the 21st Century."

Following that, Governor Malloy will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for Continuum of Care's new headquarters in New Haven. Continuum of Care is a nonprofit organization operating licensed group homes, supported living programs, intensive 24-hour supported living programs, community-based crisis and respite services, and residential case management programs for more than 800 individuals annually in various locations throughout the state, including clients of the state Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and the Department of Developmental Services. The organization is building their new headquarters with the assistance of a $7.5 million state grant.

In the evening, Governor Malloy will make remarks at the inaugural Susan G. Komen Connecticut Pink Tie Guys reception in Hartford. The Komen Connecticut Pink Tie Guys are a group of men that are raising funds and awareness for the local fight against breast cancer. Governor Malloy will serve as Honorary Chair of the inaugural reception.
