(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman released the following statement regarding the passing of Hebron resident Richard D. Veltri, PhD, father of Victoria Veltri, the state's Healthcare Advocate.

Veltri, age 79, served fourteen years on East Hartford's Board of Education, five years as a member of the Town Council and two terms representing the ninth district of the Connecticut General Assembly's House of Representatives.

"We send our deepest condolences to Vicki and her family on the passing of her father - a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a dedicated public servant and a strong advocate for the communities he served. The Veltri family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time."
