Friday: Gov. Malloy and Lt. Gov. Wyman Lead Grand Opening Ceremony of CTfastrak Bus Rapid Transit System
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will lead the grand opening ceremony to mark the beginning of service on CTfastrak - Connecticut's first-ever bus rapid transit system serving Central Connecticut. He will be joined at the event by Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Acting Federal Transit Administrator Therese McMillan, Department of Transportation Commissioner James Redeker, U.S. Representative Elizabeth Esty, New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart, and other state and local officials.Following the conclusion of the ceremony, free tours of the CTfastrak guideway will be offered to members of the general public. CTfastrak commences normal operations on Saturday, March 28, 2015, beginning with nine days of free service.
