Friday: Gov. Malloy Visits Classrooms in Bristol and Southington; Kicks Off the Governor's Summer Reading Challenge
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend the kick-off event to launch the 2015 Governor's Summer Reading Challenge and honor the winners of the 2014 challenge. The Governor's Summer Reading Challenge is an annual program co-sponsored by the State Department of Education and the State Library to encourage reading among school students across Connecticut. The Governor will be joined by Education Commissioner Dianna Wentzell and State Librarian Kendall Wiggin.
Following that, Governor Malloy will visit two elementary schools in Bristol and Southington with newly confirmed Education Commissioner Dianna Wentzell to tour the schools, speak with teachers and staff, and discuss the importance of full-day kindergarten classes.
