Gov. Malloy & First Lady Cathy Malloy Receive Honorary Degrees from Curry College
Governor Delivers School’s 2016 Commencement Address
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy and First Lady Cathy Malloy today each received honorary degrees from Curry College, a private higher education institution in Milton, Massachusetts. Governor Malloy also served as the college's commencement speaker today during its 2015 commencement exercises.
The college honored the First Lady with the degree, recognizing her individual achievements as a leading advocate in both the arts and sexual violence prevention. She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Hartford Arts Council, and for over a decade was Executive Director of the Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education. She has also served on the boards of the Connecticut Grand Opera and Orchestra, the Stamford Center for the Arts, and the Stamford Museum and Nature Center.
"We are honored to receive this recognition today by Curry College, and we appreciate the school inviting us to participate in their commencement festivities today," the Governor and First Lady said in a joint statement.
