Gov. Malloy Statement on July Jobs Report
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy released the following statement in response to the Connecticut Department of Labor's monthly "Labor Situation" report for July 2016.
The report shows that Connecticut added 3,000 new private sector jobs during the month, and saw a one-tenth of a percentage point decrease in the unemployment rate. Since July 2015, there have been 20,200 jobs created in the state.
"This is another important step forward. Our state is continuing to see a steady increase in employment, with 3,000 new private sector jobs created during the last month. We continue each and every day to grow jobs and grow confidence among our business community," Governor Malloy said. "The needle is moving in the right direction, and we are no doubt going to keep working to build on our growth."
