Because of the NGP, Vantage Group was able to purchase a wheelchair van for its day program.  This has improved the quality of life for several individuals; especially Paul M. and Robert G.

Paul and Robert rely exclusively on motorized wheelchairs for mobility.  They are quite proficient in the use of their chairs and can navigate easily within building and in the community.   The problem has always been transportation.  Prior to the new wheelchair van, they were brought to the day program through outside transportation companies.  Once at the program, they were site-bound and their community membership was curtailed. 

With the additional wheelchair van, Paul and Robert actively partake in community programs such as, volunteer work for the meals on wheels delivery program and local recycling program; attending local cultural and sporting events; enjoying recreational trips to places of interests, etc.
