ENERGY |
Approximately $3.1 billion in ARRA funding is being made available to State Energy Programs. Of this $3.1 billion, the Connecticut State Energy Program is eligible to receive funding of up to $38.5 million. Click on the link above to learn more about the State Energy Program and how Connecticut is allocating those $38.5 million in funds.
Approximately $3.2 billion in ARRA funding is being made available, for distribution by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), to states, eligible cities and counties, and eligible Indian tribes for Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants (EECBG). Of this $3.2 billion, Connecticut entities are eligible to receive funding totaling up to $24.5 million. Of this $24.5 million received by Connecticut entities, $14.9 million in funding will be direct grants from the DOE to certain larger municipalities and Indian tribes (see link below), and the remaining $9.6 million in funding will be directed to the State of Connecticut in part for distribution to municipalities not eligible to receive direct grants. The State of Connecticut received $3.4 million for the State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP). This program provided a consumer rebate on selected Energy Star appliance purchases. The rebate program ran from January 25 - July 15, 2010. Click on the above link to learn more about the program.
Approximately $39.5 million in ARRA funding is being made available to State Energy Offices to enhance energy assurance and emergency preparedness plans. Of this $39.5 million, Connecticut’s State Energy Office is eligible to receive funding of up to $521,500. Click on the link above to learn more about this initiative.

JUSTICE |
The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program is the primary provider of federal criminal justice funding to state and local jurisdictions. JAG funds can be used to support all components of the criminal justice system. JAG funded projects may address crime through the provision of services directly to individuals and/or communities and by improving the effectiveness and efficiency of criminal justice systems, processes, and procedures. All towns can receive grants through OPM. See Training Presentation (PDF)

The STOP program is designed to promote a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to enhance services and advocacy to victims, improve the criminal justice system's response, and promote effective law enforcement, prosecution, and judicial strategies to address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
