Putnam Police Department

The Putnam Police Department is conducting on-going recruitment for Entry-Level & Certified Lateral Transfer Police Officers to fill current and future vacancies. Salary range is $45,364 to $62,004. Entry level applicants must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license. Entry level candidates should contact the Law Enforcement Council of Connecticut at www.lawenforcementcouncil.org to obtain a schedule of written examination dates. The results will be submitted to the Putnam Police Department which will then contact candidates. Lateral transfer applicants must be a POSTC certified officer or a Lateral Entry (out-of-state) police officer meeting POSTC requirements, with a minimum of two years full-time experience. All candidates must pass a physical agility test, oral exam, psychological, polygraph, drug screening, and comprehensive background investigation to qualify.
