West Haven Police Department

The City of West Haven announces an open recruitment seeking POST Certified Officers for the position of Police Officer. Candidates should be in good standing with their current department. Candidates will be required to successfully complete a written examination, drug screening, thorough background investigation, polygraph, psychological, oral interview and medical examination. Officers with three or more years of experience will have a shortened one year probationary period. Top salary is $68,910.40. The West Haven Police Department offers: Tuition reimbursement, educational bonus pay, vacation time, holiday time, sick time, personal days, a yearly uniform allowance, longevity pay, health insurance, dental insurance, and life insurance. Officers work a 40 hour work week with five days on and two days off. A copy of current POST certification must accompany application.
