Candidate Qualifications

United States Senate: You must be at least thirty years old, a citizen of the United States for at least nine years, and an inhabitant of the state when elected. See U.S. Constitution Art. 1, §3, cl. 3.

United States House of Representatives: You must be at least twenty-five years old, a citizen of the United States for at least seven years, and an inhabitant of the State when elected. See U.S. Constitution Art. 1, §2, cl. 2.

Connecticut Governor: You must be at least thirty years old and an elector in the state. See Connecticut Constitution Art. 4, §5

Connecticut Lieutenant Governor: You must be at least thirty years old and an elector in the state. See Connecticut Constitution Art. 4, §6.

Connecticut Attorney General: You must be an elector of the state and an attorney at law with at least ten years active practice in the Connecticut bar. See Connecticut General Statutes §3-124.

Connecticut State Senate: You must be at least eighteen years old and an elector in the senatorial district from which you are elected. See Connecticut Constitution Art. 3, §3.

Connecticut State House of Representatives: You must be at least eighteen years old and an elector in the assembly district from which you are elected. See Connecticut Constitution Art. 3, §4.
