In order to practice social distancing and slow the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), public access to our building, 165 Capitol Avenue, will be restricted. Although in-person interactions will be limited, our office staff will be available via email as normal. Secretary of the State Denise Merrill on Passage of the Voter Privacy Proposal by the GAE Committee

“Voter privacy in Connecticut took a step forward when the GAE committee passed my proposal to stop sharing full dates of birth in the publicly available voter file. This is the number one piece of information that identity thieves seek – the voter file is meant to be a registry of voters, not a one-stop shop for identity thieves.
