Secretary of the State Denise Merrill Announces New Notary Public eLicense Portal
Changes make it faster and easier to apply for a new license, renew an active license, or reinstate an expired license
Connecticut Secretary of the State Denise Merrill today announced a new, online eLicense portal that will allow Notaries Public to easily apply for new licenses, renew active licenses, and reinstate expired licenses. All new, renewed, and reinstated licenses will be delivered via email to the Notary within two to three business days. The portal can be found at www.portal.ct.gov/notary.
“Allowing Notaries Public to apply for new licenses and renew and restore old licenses online makes the process simpler, easier, and faster, “ said Merrill. “As we have done with business information, regulations, and voter registrations, allowing Notaries to apply online removes barriers and makes becoming and remaining a Notary more convenient.”
Secretary Merrill has championed the use of online tools to make the Office of the Secretary of the State more accessible to voters, businesses, and residents, including Online Voter Registration, Online Business Formation and Filings, Automatic Voter Registration through the DMV, eRegulations, Election Night Reporting online, Enhanced Business Registration Data Search, and now eLicensing for Notaries Public,
