LT. GOVERNOR WYMAN NAMED TO LEADERSHIP OF NATIONAL
LIEUTENANT GOVERNORS ASSOCIATION
Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman has been elected to serve on the leadership committee of the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA).
Wyman attended the NLGA national conference last week in Chicago, where she was elected unanimously in a bipartisan vote of her peers to serve as the East Region Democrat-at-Large member of the NLGA Executive Committee.
"This is another way that our administration is working to find multi-state and regional solutions to the challenges facing Connecticut," Wyman said. "I am eager to contribute to the work of the Executive Committee as we increase collaboration and build partnerships with states across the country."
The committee meets approximately three times a year and is responsible to chart the course of issues to be pursued by the NLGA. Wyman will serve until July of 2013.
At last week's conference, she also led bipartisan passage of a policy resolution in support of national adoption of state-level health information technology systems linked with the National Health Information Exchange. The systems enable sharing of patient information with the appropriate patient consent.
