THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY SPEAKS AT MARCH FOR CHANGE RALLY; PARTICIPATES IN ONE BILLION RISING EVENT; ANNOUNCES MAJOR NOMINATION; ATTENDS HEALING NEWTOWN ARTS SPACE OPENING

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will speak at the March for Change rally at the State Capitol.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy and First Lady Cathy Malloy will speak at the One Billion Rising event in Hartford, which is part of a global event calling on one billion women and allies to demand an end to violence against women. The event is hosted by the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women, Connecticut Sexual Assault Crisis Services, Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and Planned Parenthood.

Later, Governor Malloy will hold a news conference at the State Capitol to announce a major nomination.

In the evening, Governor Malloy, Lt. Governor Wyman, and First Lady Cathy Malloy will attend the grand opening of HealingNewtown Art Space, a project of the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission focused on providing a space for families and children to heal through the arts.
