Lt. Governor, DMV, and Hospitals to Announce First-Ever Collaboration
on Public Awareness Campaign to Become Organ and Tissue Donors
What: Announcement of first-ever collaboration and campaign by the state, hospitals and organ and tissue procurement donor services. April is Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Month . The public awareness campaign will run from April through October to increase the number of registered donors in the state.
When: Thursday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m.
Who: State of Connecticut through DMV and the Lt. Governor, Hartford Hospital, Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Yale-New Haven Hospital, Donate Life, LifeChoice Donor Services, New England Organ Bank and organ and tissue donors.
Where: The Department of Motor Vehicles, 60 State St., Wethersfield, CT
What You Will See and Hear: Mother and father tell story about how they donated organs of young son to save others. Doctors will tell how donations save lives and how misplaced fear prevents some donors from registering to give life to others. One or more speakers will sign up to be a donor.
