TUESDAY: LT. GOVERNOR WYMAN TO HELP HONOR NEWTOWN DISPATCHERS, SPEAK AT PAY EQUITY DAY EVENT, ADDRESS YWCA WOMEN'S LUNCHEON
Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman on Tuesday will help honor emergency dispatchers involved in the response to the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, speak at a Pay Equity Day press conference and address the Hartford Region YWCA's annual "In the Company of Women" luncheon.
Wyman will help honor dispatchers from the Newtown Emergency Communications Center at the annual statewide Telecommunicator Day Conference, which begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 1284 Strongtown Road, Southbury.
At 11 a.m., she will speak at a Pay Equity Day press conference hosted by the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women, which will highlight Gov. Malloy's call for action on the gender wage gap in Connecticut. The press conference will be held in Room 2-B at the Legislative Office Building.
At noon, Wyman will give remarks at the YWCA's 18 th annual "In the Company of Women" luncheon, held at the Connecticut Convention Center on Columbus Avenue in Hartford. Journalist Laura Ling is the featured speaker at the event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
