Staff Sgt. Todd Lobraico Added to the Wall of Honor

(HARTFORD, CT) - Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, joined by Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Veterans Affairs Commissioner Linda Schwartz, Major General Thad Martin, radio personality Brad Davis, state officials, and military families gathered today to recognize the Connecticut service men and women on the Wall of Honor who were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan since the terrorist attacks in 2001.

"The Wall of Honor is a very special tribute to some of this country's most dedicated protectors," said Lt. Governor Wyman. "We are grateful for their sacrifice, and that their families are willing to share their loved ones with us and the thousands of Capitol visitors who walk through these halls each year. All of our heroes-those on this Wall and those on memorials across the country-are a reminder of the cost of building and sustaining a great nation. It is incumbent upon all of us to live in service of their sacrifice and recall in our everyday actions what it means to be an American."

"Connecticut's Wall of Honor is an important part of the history and future of this state," said Governor Malloy. "I am proud of the work done by Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman in establishing the Wall of Honor and giving Connecticut residents a place to go to remember the men and women who are not returning from battle, and reflect on the significance of their sacrifice. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends."

Started by Lt. Governor Wyman in 2007, the Wall of Honor includes photos of 65 Connecticut service members on permanent display in the concourse between the Capitol and the Legislative Office Building.

A photo of Air Force Staff Sergeant Todd James "TJ" Lobraico Jr. was added to the Wall during today's ceremony. Staff Sergeant Lobraico was killed in action in Afghanistan on September 5, 2013.
