The Senior Community Service Employment Program serves low-income adults age 55 years and older to re-enter today’s workforce.

Participants are placed in temporary training assignments where they gain valuable on-the-job work experience and training needed to gain meaningful employment. On-the-job training sites offer 20 hours of work per week at minimum wage. Other training and services are available to help older adults find meaningful employment when they complete the program.

To qualify for this program, you must:

  • Be unemployed;
  • Be 55 years of age or older and a resident of Connecticut; and
  • Have an annual family income that is not more than 125% of the federal poverty income guidelines.
