What services are there for people who are DeafBlind?

The agency provides funding to create opportunities for recreation, communication, socialization and other services that further community inclusion for adults age 21 or older who are DeafBlind.  

An individual is considered  DeafBlind if their vision meets the statutory definition of legal blindness or impaired vision, and the individual’s hearing is non-functional to understand ordinary conversation with the best amplification.  

People who are DeafBlind may request funds for programs that provide access to recreation, communication, socialization and other services that reduces social isolation and increases involvement in the community.  Organizations, providers, individuals and other entities may request funds to provide services to individuals or to groups of individuals who are DeafBlind.
