The Connecticut Statewide Respite Care Program helps stressed caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementias. It offers:

  • Helpful information
  • Support for caregivers
  • Help with developing care plans
  • Services for those with Alzheimer's or related dementias

Clients may receive traditional agency care options or caregivers can hire someone of their choice to provide care. The program subsidizes these costs up to $7,500 per year, depending on available funding and the applicant’s level of need as determined by the care manager. This program is a joint partnership between the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter, the Area Agencies on Aging, and the Connecticut Department of Aging and Disability Services - Bureau of Aging.
