Designed to assist older people and younger people with disabilities to live independently in their apartments, the Congregate Housing Services Program (CHSP) provides housing combined with professional service coordination and supportive services, such as housekeeping, companion, personal emergency response, transportation, and medication management. CHSP aims to encourage maximum resident independence in a home environment, improve management’s ability to assess eligible residents’ service needs, and ensure delivery of needed services.

CHSP is funded and administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in partnership with the Department of Aging and Disability Services - State Unit on Aging.

CHSP housing sites are located in the Eastern and Western regions of the State. To learn more about the program, please call Senior Resources (Eastern Connecticut Area) Agency on Aging at 860-887-3561, or the Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging at 203-757-5449.
