How do I apply for Social Security disability?

All applications must be submitted through the Social Security Administration (SSA). There are several ways to apply for benefits:

Visit the SSA website to apply online.

  • Call or visit any Social Security office to schedule an appointment. Find the Office closest to you.

  • Contact SSA toll-free at 800-772-1213
